Season your spuds
A few months ago I finally revealed my secret product…ROAST POTATO SEASONING. After lots of recipe developing, designing the packaging and plenty of taste testing, my seasoning is ready to go! I’M SO EXCITED.
So although it’s called “Roast Potato Seasoning”, it’s much more than that. The potato (and non-potato based) opportunities are endless, so if you fancy buying a sachet or you’ve already got your hands on a few packets and want a bit of recipe inspo, look no further…
1. Sweet potato taco bowl
I often neglect the sweet potato, and tbh I don’t know why? They’re tasty and really versatile, but it’ll just never be a Maris Piper, will it? What’s great about using the seasoning here is that the saltiness really offsets the sweetness of your spud and balances it all beautifully. For this dish, toss cubed sweet potatoes in the seasoning and roast until golden. Serve with black beans, corn, smashed avo and lime yoghurt for the ultimate plant-based taco bowl.
2. Loaded air fryer skinny fries
Give your shoestring or frozen fries a good toss in oil and the seasoning, air fry ‘til crisp and golden, then top with melty cheese, crispy onions and sriracha mayo. Instant fakeaway vibes. Or just enjoy without the toppings! Sometimes there’s nothing better than just a plain bowl of chips!
3. Herby chicken thigh traybake
I absolutely had to get a chicken dish in this list! This seasoning can transform your midweek meal and make it that extra bit special. For this recipe, use the seasoning as a dry rub for chicken thighs, then roast on a tray with potatoes, courgette and cherry tomatoes. Throw in any veg you’ve got hanging about!
4. Halloumi and roast veggie flatbreads
I love meals like this as lunchtime staples. Filling, delicious and keep my going all afternoon. So back to the dish…toss courgette, red onion and peppers in the seasoning before roasting. Pile onto toasted flatbreads with grilled halloumi and tzatziki. A little sprinkling of pomegranate is always a winner too.
5. Crispy cauliflower bites
Cauli florets + olive oil + roast potato seasoning = air fryer heaven. Serve with buffalo sauce and blue cheese dip for a meat-free wing alternative.
6. Crispy smashed potatoes with a load of dips
Boil baby potatoes, smash, drizzle with oil, sprinkle with seasoning, and roast. Serve with garlic mayo, whipped feta and chilli jam for a sharing-style starter. Basically, the more dips the better in my opinion.
7. Breakfast hash
Use the seasoning on my classic crispy cubes (or frozen hash browns) with onion and peppers, fry up, and top with fried eggs and hot sauce. I’m not opposed to adding a little bacon, sausage and cheese too. It’s essentially a full English and I’m here for it.
8. Roasted broccoli caesar salad
Can we just note how many veggies and healthy bits I’ve suggested so far?! Who am I…where is the beige? Antway, coat broccoli florets in the seasoning and roast until crisp. Toss with Caesar dressing, croutons, and shaved parmesan. This is my kinda salad.
9. Crispy tofu bowls
Dust cubes of tofu in cornflour and the seasoning mix. Air fry or oven bake and serve with rice, edamame, pickled veg and soy dressing. This is what meals should look like when we talk about meat-free Mondays.
10. Parmesan roast wedges with garlic dip
Wedge-cut potatoes tossed in the seasoning, baked until golden, and sprinkled with parmesan straight out the oven. Serve with garlic mayo or chipotle dip. Fun fact – only until recently did I think wedges were called wedgies, yes seriously. I know it’s not right, but to me they will forever be potato wedgies.
Top tip: A pinch also works brilliantly in batter for fish, veggie fritters or even cheese scones. You can shop the seasoning here — and get ready to give everything a bit of herby deliciousness.
