Watermelon salad with feta

print recipe

I made this watermelon salad with feta as part of my ‘aphrodisiac series’ over on Instagram and it’s just so refreshing and delicious that I had to share it here. It’s wonderfully simple and requires barely any effort, so win win tbh.

What makes watermelon an aphrodisiac?

Within the juiciness of the watermelon you’ll find citrulline, which is an amino acid that relaxes and dilates blood vessels. This increases blood flow and lets just say it stimulates things. You can probs work out what kinda things 🍆 It replicates the magic of a certain blue pill that some people may be familiar with. I’m not gonna lie, this isn’t what I thought I’d be writing about on my website or just ever really, but I felt the need to share the benefits. I mean you can also just eat watermelon because you like it…

Tip – If you hate waste, save the watermelon pith and pickle it. You’re bound to have a glass jar you’ve kept and stored away ‘just in case’ so this is your chance to use it.

Need to use up the remaining watermelon?

To prevent any waste why not try my grilled watermelon? Or if you’re feeling something a lil boozier and of the liquid variety, you need to make my frozen watermelon margaritas. I went through a full on watermelon obsession and these margarita cocktails were the perfect way to hit your five a day whilst getting a bit of a buzz. Amazing in summer. Make sure you’ve got a bit of Harry Styles playing in the background to really stay on theme.
